RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Mar 11: Rajshahi University (RU) is going to organise a two-day international conference on Bangla literature and literature of other languages of Bangladesh entitled "Boichitre Oikker Anwesha" (Query of consistency in diversity) on the campus from March 13 to 14.
Bangla Department, Bangla Gobeshona Sangsad and Bangla Samiti will jointly organise the conference.
Arts Faculty dean and also the president of the conference Prof. Khandakar Farhad Hossain revealed this to media at a press briefing at the university Deans' Complex Tuesday.
Prominent Indian scholar and former Vice Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University Dr. Pabitra Sarkar will inaugurate the two-day international conference at RU Senate Bhaban around 9:30am on Friday.
RU VC Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanuddin is expected to attend it as the chief guest while former VC Professor Abdul Khaleque and current Pro-VC Prof Sarwar Jahan will attend as special guests.
About 30 Indian scholars will attend the conference where 43 articles will be presented. Besides, 39 experts will take part in different discussions.
Litterateur Prof Hasan Azizul Haque, Poet Asad Chowdhury, Prof Sanat Kumar Saha, Prof Abdul Khaleque, Prof Khandakar Sirazul Haque, Prof Zulfikar Matin, Prof Laek Ali Khan, Prof Sayeed Manzurul Islam, Prof Bishwajit Ghosh, Prof Rafiqullah Khan, Prof Sayeed Azizul Haque, Prof Khaled Hossain will preside over the discussion seminars.
