'Jahanara Imam lit the torch of Liberation War spirit'

NATORE, June 04 (BSS): Speakers at a discussion here said on Saturday Jahanara Imam lit the torch, formed on the spirit of Liberation War, which is still burning.

The discussion, organised by Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, titled "Jahanara Imam against Fundamentalism and Communalism" was held in the town.

President of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Shahriar Kabir addressed the discussion as the chief guest with its Natore District President Uma Chowdhury Jolly in the chair.

In the discussion, the speakers also said Jahanara Imam led an unprecedented movement in the early 90s to bring the perpetrators of 1971 war crimes to justice.

General Secretary of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Kazi Mukul, its Deputy General Secretary Kamruzzaman, General Secretary of Natore chapter AL Shariful Islam Ramadan and General Secretary of Natore District Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Advocate Malek Sheikh spoke, among others.
