JASHORE, Dec 20 (BSS): A motorcycle rider was killed in a road accident on the Jashore-Benapole highway in Navaron old bazar area under Sharsha upazila of the district on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as deed-writer Ashraful Islam, 36, son of Nazrul Islam of Basotpur village of Baghachra union of the upazila.
According to the police and eyewitness, the accident occurred when Ashraful Islam was returned home from Godkhali area in Jhikorgacha upazila riding motorcycle; it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction around 9:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot, said sub-inspector (SI) of Navaron highway Mofizur Rahman.
Police seized the truck from the spot. A case was filed in Sharsha thana in this connection.
