Jashore, Joypurhat road accidents kill five

A total of five persons were killed in separate road accidents in Jashore and Joypurhat districts on Wednesday, report agencies.
In Jashore, three people were killed and two others injured in a collision between an ambulance and an engine-run van on Jashore-Benapole highway in Jashore early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Nazma Khatun, 50, Bablu Hossain, 54, and Ratna Khatun, 12, residents of Godkhali area under Jhikargacha upazila of the district.
Navaran Highway police station's Officer-in-Charge Rokanuzzaman said the accident occurred around 6:15am when the Benapole-bound ambulance crashed into the van coming from the opposite direction in front of a refueling station in Nabinagar area, leaving the trio dead on the spot.
In Joypurhat, two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Bansher Bridge under Kalai upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Mofazzal Hossain Mondal, 40, son of late Lokman Hossain and Idris Ali, 60, son of late Shahabuddin, both residents of Bhugoil village of the upazila.
