FARIDPUR, Feb 2 (BSS): Fortnight long Jasim Pollimela, jointly organised by Faridpur Jasim Foundation and District Administration coinciding the 110th birth anniversary of Polli Kabi Jasimuddin, concluded last evening here on the premises of poet's ancestral home located at Gobindapur town. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Mainuddin Ahmed addressed the concluding function, held at the "Jasim Mancha", as the chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) M Shafiqur Reza Biswas presided it. Additional Police Super Bijoy Basak, Zilla Parishad Administrator and district Awami League (AL) president Kazi Zainul Abedin, AL Advisory Council member S M Nurunnabi, Pourasabha Mayor Shiekh Mahatab Ali Methu were present on the occasion as special guests. The chief guest stressed the need for preserving our traditional cultural heritage for our national progress and identity. He said the village fair, which has become the annual festival coinciding the birth anniversary of the poet, is a praiseworthy venture of the organisers to preserve our heritage as well as a source of enjoyment for the rural people.
