Joydebpur-Elenga four-lane project to start in Sept, says minister

GAZIPUR, July 7: Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Qauder said, the four-lane development project of Joydebpur-Elenga on Dhaka -Tangail highway will start in September next.
The tender process for this project has already been completed as well as issued work order. The minister was talking to local journalist at Chandra intersection of Gazipur after he had visited the Dhaka-Tangail highway on Tuesday.
The minister said, the road condition is better than anytime of the past year. He said, we have to repair the roads throughout the year.
He said, the elevated expressway on Nabinagar-Baipal-Uttara will be constructed as it is not possible to develop this highway to four lane because of land requisition problems, houses besides highway, Mosque and Madrasa and different structures.
He said, "We have already received the confirmation about foreign funds for the project".
Prominent columnist Syed Abul Maksud, additional chief engineer (Dhaka devision) of Roads and Highway Department Mohammed Aftab Uddin Khan, executive engineer of Dhaka Roads and highway department Mohammed Ataur Rahman, Executive engineer of Gazipur Roads and highway department Sobuz Uddin Khan and parliament member Dr. Enam Ahmed were present among others. mdshaheen71@gmail.com
