Jute plants growing well in Tangail

TANGAIL, Apr 9: Jute plants are growing well in 12 upazilas of the district this season. According to Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Tangail 119440 hectares of land was brought under jute cultivation with the production target of 203282 bales of jute. Akbar Ali of village Mahmudpur under Delduar upazila of the district has cultivated three acres of land and till now the plants of jute are growing very well. He is expecting a bumper production unless there is climatic disaster.
