Keraniganj, C'nawabganj road accidents kill four

A total of four persons were killed in separate road accidents in Keraniganj and Chapainawabganj districts on Sunday, report agencies.
UNB reports from Keraniganj, three people including two members of a family were killed when a private car crashed into an electric pole in Nababganj upazila of Keraniganj early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as private car driver Monir Khan Billal, 54, Abul Kashem, 65, and his granddaughter Farhana, 8.
The accident occurred around 4am when the private car coming from Shahjalal International Airport area hit a roadside electric pole on Dhaka-Nababganj-Dohar road, leaving six people injured, said Alamgir Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of Nobabganj police station.
Locals rushed the injured to Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Abul Kashem and Farhana dead.
Three others were later sent to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) where the driver succumbed to his injuries, the SI added.
The accident occurred when Abul Kashem went to receive his expatriate son-in-law Lavlu along with his family members at the airport in the capital Sunday morning, he added.
BSS from Chapainawabganj says, a student of class six was killed in a road mishap at Gomastapur upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Aziz, 12, son of Md. Naimul Haque Master of Rokonpur village of the upazila.
Police said the accident took place in Sheikhpara DC crossing area around 9am when a tractor hit a motorbike, leaving its rider Aziz injured critically.
Aziz succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He was going to school with his father by the motorcycle.
Officer-in-charge of Gomastapur Police Station Dilip Kumar Das confirmed the matter.
