Law and order body meet in Faridpur held

FARIDPUR, Oct 28 (BSS): The monthly meeting of the district law and order committee to review the law and order situation in the district was held yesterday in the conference of the Deputy Commissioner(DC), Faridpur.
The meeting chaired by DC Sardar Sharafat Ali was attended by district law enforcing agencies chiefs, NGO representatives, Upazilla Chairmen, UNOs government officials, lawyers, journalists and representatives of the civil society.
It was decided in the meeting to conduct frequent mobile courts to prevent adulteration in food and also to check preservatives injurious for health and drug menace. It was also decided to check the fake, doctors, clinics, diagnostic centers and other health related fraudulent practices to deceive the people.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md. Monirul Alom made a power point presentation depicting the gradual reduction of crime incidents in the districts.
It was seen that the increase in mobile courts helped decrease of various crimes including drug abuse, food adulteration and traffic rule violations.
He also presented the comparative statement of the crime situation and successes of the law enforcers in the recovery of contraband drugs including phensidyl, Ganja and subduing other offenders.
Police Super Md. Jamil Hassan sought the cooperation of all classes of people to maintain law and order in present form.
DC Sardar Sharafat emphasized on creating awareness among the guardians to be careful about their wards to keep them safe from drug abuse. He also sought the cooperation of all to improve the law and order situation in the district.
Among others Sadar Upazilla Chairman Kh. Mohtesham Hossain Babor, Awami League leader Advocate Shubal Saha, BSS Correspondent Prof. Shahjahan, Charbhadrasan Upazilla chairman Badal Amin and NGO personnel Asma Akhtar Mukta spoke in the meeting.
