FARIDPUR, Sept 23 (BSS): The monthly meeting of the district law and order committee to review the law and order in the district was held yesterday in the conference of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Faridpur.
The meeting chaired by DC Sardar Sharafat Ali was attended by district law enforcing agencies' chiefs, NGO representatives, government officials, lawyers and representatives of the civil society. It was decided in the meeting to conduct frequent mobile courts to prevent adulteration in food and also to check preservatives injurious for health and drug menace. It was also decided to check the fake clinics, diagnostic centers and other health related fraudulent practices to deceive the people.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md Monirul Alom made a power point presentation depicting the gradual reduction of crime incidents in the district. It was observed that the increase in mobile courts helped decrease of various crimes including drug abuse, food adulteration and traffic rule violations. RAB Company Commander (CC) Major Mojammel Hossain pointed out that as Faridpur is situated connecting capital city with some bordering districts the movement of contraband liquor phensidyl has increased ahead of Puja and Eid festival.
