BRAHMANBARIA, Sept 8: A rural road network activities are being implemented with the main thrust of removing physical bottlenecks for improving rural accessibility, upgrading quality and enhancing sustainability of rural transport and market services in Brahmanbaria.
A total of nine upazilas of the district were brought under the activities being implemented by Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).
75.50Km long twelve roads and 165m long four bridges of RTIP-2 of an estimated cost of Tk 906.15 million, thirty two roads of GOB Maintenance of an estimated cost of Tk 01.55 million, 16.60Km long ten roads, 04.00m long one culvert and 20.00m long one bridge of IRIOP of a cost of Tk 46.99 million, 03.21Km long five roads and 13.50m long two culverts of GCP of a cost of Tk13.71 million, one complex Bhaban of UMC of an estimated cost of Tk 21.20 million, thirty eight residence of CHLUMP of an estimated cost of Tk 69.49 million,49.67Km long forty five roads and 208.60m long seven bridge/ culvert of RIDP of a cost of Tk 374.00 million,54m long one bridge of PRP of a cost of Tk 15.27 million, 04.00Km long two roads, 95.50m long nine culverts and four Ghatla of an estimated cost of Tk67.67 million are being implemented, integrity in Brahmanbaria.
LGED Executive Engineer of Brahmanbaria Md Shakhwat Hossain told the newsman, the rural level improved infrastructures have already started reducing transport cost, improving marketing system, increasing production and marketing facilities of agricultural products which are contributing a lot to socioeconomic development of the activities area. jrn.jashim@gmail.com
