LGED starts construction of two bridges over Atrai river


NAOGAON, Oct 17: The construction work of the much awaited two bridges over the Atrai river was inaugurated in Mohadevpur upazila of the district on Tuesday last.
Salim Uddin Tarafdar, lawmaker of Naogaon-5 constituency (Mohadevpur-Badalgachi), laid the foundation stone of the bridges as the chief guest in Kalna Ghat area.
Sources at the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Naogaon, said the two bridges are being constructed in Shibganj and Kalna Ghat areas.
The construction work of 350 metres and 294.30 metres bridges will cost around Tk 601 million, the sources added.
Executive engineer of Naogaon LGED Naeem Uddin Mia, upazila nirbahi officer Mobarak Hossain Parvez, upazila engineer of LGED Rozdid Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Mohadevpur Police Station Sazzad Hossain, among others, attended the inaugural function.
