LGSP training going on in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jun 5 (BSS): Training for the members of ward committee and scheme supervision has been continuing since May 31 at the auditorium of Sadar upazila parishad in the district.

Upazila administration has arranged the training under Local Government Support Project (LGSP)-2 aimed at strengthening the local government at grass root level side by side with ensuring transparency and accountability.

Deputy Director (DD) of local government (LG) section of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office M. Mokhlesur Rahman, UNO Ashraful Momin Khan, upazila agriculture officer M. Sadiqul Islam, upazila engineer Abul Mansur, upazila social services officer Golam Faruque, are conducting the sessions of the training as resource persons, among others.

The participants are being imparted training on scheme implementation, bill payment, scheme selection, scheme supervision, procurement method and audit.

More than 100 participants including public representatives, social workers, NGO representatives, teachers, imams, farmers, and labors are taking part in the training in a batch.

The training would continue till June 07, said UNO Ashraful Momin Khan.

Earlier, DC M. Ehsan-e-Elahi formally inaugurated the training on May 31 as the chief guest.
