Lightning kills mother, daughter in M’singh

MYMENSINGH, May 14 (BSS): A mother and her daughter were killed and two others injured when lightning struck them at Bangaon village under Bhaluka upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Jorina Begum, 45, and her daughter Asma Akter, 20, of the same area.

Police and local sources said the lightning followed by a rainstorm hit the duo around 6 pm when they were in their house. Both of them died on the spot.

Sheuly, 25, wife of Azmat Ali and their daughter Halima Akhtar, of the same village, were injured after they were struck by lightning.

Both of them were admitted to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the incident.
