Lightning kills one in Rangpur

RANGPUR, May 12 (BSS): One person was killed by lightning in village Ghatabeel under Ramnathpur union of Badarganj upazila here this afternoon, police said.

The deceased was identified as Amal Chandra, 40, son of Budaru Chandra of the same village.

The thunderbolt struck Amal Chandra critically injuring him at around 3 pm when he went out of home for bringing back his grazing cows from the nearby fields after sensing deteriorating weather condition. Local people immediately rushed Amal to Badarganj Upazila Heath Complex where the physician Dr Ayesha Siddika declared him dead.
