Lightning strike kills teenage boy in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Apr 08 (UNB): A teenage boy was killed and another injured after being struck by lightning at Purba Battajor village in Bakshiganj upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Anwarul Islam, 17, son of Esa Mia, and the injured as Atik, 30.

Abu Hasan, upazila nirbahi officer of Bakshiganj, said the lightning struck Anwarul and Atik when they were watering to their paddy field around 10am, leaving one dead on the spot.

The injured were admitted to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
