Lightning strike kills woman in Habiganj

HABIGANJ, May 26 (BSS): A woman was killed in a lightning strike at Dudpatil village under Chunarughat upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Ful Banu, 55, hailed from the village.

Local people said a thunderbolt hit her around 11am during rain when she was returning home along with two cows from crop field. She was brought to Chunarughat Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared her dead.

The two cows also died of the lightning strike. Officer-in-Charge of Chunarughat Thana Ali Ashraf confirmed it.
