Madaripur, Gaibandha road crashes kill two


Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Madaripur and Gaibandha districts on Tuesday, reports BSS.
In Madaripur, an elderly man was killed in a road accident after being hit by an ambulance in Thantali area of Madaripur municipality on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rajab Ali Sardar, 60, son of late Sonamdi Sardar, resident of Thantali area of Madaripur.
The accident occurred when Rajab Ali went to the mosque next to his house to offer Fajr prayers. After the prayer in early Tuesday morning, when he was returning home, an ambulance hit him as he tried to cross the road.
In Gaibandha, a motorcyclist was killed and his co-riders were critically injured as a truck hit them at Trimohoni Bazar under Sadar upazila here on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Asadul Islam, son of Altaf Hossain Mondal, a resident of Holdia village under Saghata upazila in the district.
Locals said Asadul Islam, along with two others, was going to Gaibandha district town on a motorcycle on Tuesday morning. When they reached Trimohoni Bazar, a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle, leaving motorcyclist Asadul dead on the spot and two others seriously injured.
