Magura, C'nawabganj road crashes kill three

MAGURA, Apr 01 (UNB): Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in a collision between a human hauler and a motorbike on Khalshia village road in Mohammadpur upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nurul Islam, 22, son of Zafar Sheikh and Ibrahim Ali, 21, son of Chand Miah, residents of the village. Quoting locals, Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station said that the tragic accident took place while the human haler collided with the motorbike around 11.00am, leaving two bikers dead on the spot and another injured.

Police sent the bodies to Magura General Hospital for autopsy. Besides, injured Milon admitted to the same hospital.A case was filed with the police station in this connection, the OC added.

Meanwhile, BSS adds: In Chapainawabganj, a housewife was killed in a road accident in Gunir More area under Gobratala union in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Sunday. The victim was identified as Mala Begum, 35, wife of Nurul Islam of Atahar Bulonpur under Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station Monjur Rahman said Nurul Islam was going to Chapainawabganj from his house with his wife Mala by a motorcycle. As he reached Gunir More area at around 8.30am, he lost control over his handle while trying to save a child and fell down.

At this, Mala became seriously injured and she succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital, the OC added.
