MAGURA, Jun 14:   Magura passport office is in limbo even after one and half year of its establishment.

In 2013 the office was set up. Passport aspirants of the district were happy with new hope. But their dream was shattered as the office is still not ready to issue passport.

Everyday 40 to 50 passport aspirants of the district come to the office, but they return home with broken hearts. Finding no alternative they have to go Jessore regional passport office for passport.

Jessore is about 50 km away from Magura. In this way the total expenditure for the office including salary, rent and others is about 1.5 million per year. But the workers in the office are getting salary without any work. Such misuse of government revenue has raised concern among the conscious circle of the district.

Magura passport office sources informed, they have almost all the supports to make passport except machine readable ones. For want of a machine we are unable to serve the passport aspirants.

Deputy assistant director , Magura passport office Shazzad Hossen said, we have written to our superior authority for the machine readable machine.
