Maintaining standardisation of all consumer products stressed

RAJSHAHI, Oct 14 (BSS): Speakers at a discussion here today unequivocally called for maintaining total standardization of all consumers products to ensure sound public health.

They viewed substandard and adulterated consumer items always pose serious threat to the public health as well the entire society. So, there is no alternative to ensure total quality of the products.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutions (BSTI) organized the discussion styled "Standards level the playing field" held at Nanking Darbar Hall in the city to mark the 45th World Standard Day-2014.

Professor Dr Mosharraf Hossain, Department Head of Industrial and Production Engineering of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, and Professor Dr Selim Reja of Department of Marketing of Rajshahi University, addressed the discussion as the chief and special guests respectively with Engineer Abdul Hannan, Regional Office Head of BSTI, in the chair.
