Maize farmers eye bumper yield in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Apr 21 (BSS): The maize farmers in Joypurthat district are happy as they are going to harvest bumper yield of the crop in the current season.  Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) sources said a total of 500 hectares of land were brought under the maize cultivation in the district this year with the production target of 4,000 tonnes.

Of the total land, about 100 hectares were brought under maize cultivation in Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, 300 hectares in Panchbibi Upazila and 100 hectares in Akkelpur Upazila.
