Man gets life for killing wife in Sirajganj

A court in Sirajganj on Wednesday sentenced a man to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) for killing his wife for dowry in 2010. The convict was identified as Haider Ali, son of Jadab Ali, a resident of Purna village in Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj. According to the prosecution, Haider strangulated his wife Asma Khatun to death for dowry on March 29, 2010. Later, Abul Kashem, father of the victim, filed a case against Haider with Raiganj Police Station. Police submitted charge-sheet against him on August 31, 2010. After examining witnesses, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sirajganj, Fazle Miah pronounced the verdict, according to UNB.
