Man held for killing wife in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Sept, 10 (BSS): Manikganj police has arrested a man for killing his wife from a village under Manikganj Sadar upazila of the district.

The arrestee is Md Zahidul Islam (35), son of Mohammad Akher Ali of village Ukiara and an office assistant of Saturia Upazila Nirbahi Office of the district.

The victim, Taslima Begum (30),was daughter of Ahmad Ali of the same village and mother of two sons.

Officer- in-Charge (OC) Manikganj Sadar thana Abdur Rouf said following a family feud Zahidul killed his wife by hitting with a pestle at about 10:00 pm on Saturday. Taslim was in deep sleep at that time.

On information, the OC rushed to the spot with other police personnel and arrested Taslima's husband from his house at 11.30 pm.

A murder case was filed with Manikganj Police Station against the husband and he was sent to the court.

The body of the house wife was sent to Manikganj 250-beded Sadar hospital for autopsy, OC added.
