Man killed by robbers in Pabna: One held

PABNA, Nov 23: A man was killed as he was beaten  and chopped by the robbers when he tried to resist them at village Provakorpara in Chatmohar Upazila of Pabna early Sunday.
Locals chased the robbers and caught one of them. Police recovered a shutter gun and two rounds of bullets from the spot.
The deceased, Md. Mojibar Rahman, 40, son of Akhter Pramanik of the village was a farmer police and the locals said.
Officer-in-charge of Chatmohar police station Subroto Kumar Pal quoting the family members said a gang of robbers attacked the house of Mojibar at about 2 am. Mojibar was allegedly beaten and chopped by the robbers when he tried to resist them.
Mojibar was admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 9am on Sunday.  
With the shouting of the victims locals rushed to the spot and caught one of the robbers Md. Shukur Ali, 42, of village Tantiband in Sujanagar Upazila of the district after beating him up. Rest of his associates managed to escape from the spot.
A case was filed with the incident the OC said.
