SUNAMGANJ, Nov 5 (UNB): A man was killed and 30 others were injured in a clash between two rival groups over fishing in a water body in Sadar (South) upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Tafazzul Hossain,45, son of Abdul Jabbar, a resident of Paikapan village of the upazila.
Police said an altercation took place between the two groups of Paikapan and Asampur villages over fishing in a haor (water body) at Jamtala village.
At one stage, a villager of Asampur village opened fire on men of Paikapan.
31 people on both sides were injured, including Tafazzul with bullets. Of the injured, critically three were rushed to hospital where Tafazzal succumbed to his injuries.
