Man kills nephew in Shibganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Apr 17 (BSS): One person was killed allegedly by his uncle over a piece of disputed land at Karnakhali-Mirzapur village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Abdul Karim, 30, son of Mozammel Haque of the same area.

Sub inspector (SI) of Shibganj thana Sudipta Reza said Karim had a longstanding dispute with his uncle Monirul Islam over the land.

Police said on the day of occurrence Karim picked up a quarrel with Monirul.

At one stage of their altercation, Monirul hacked his nephew to death on the spot.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue.
