SIRAJGANJ, Jan 02 (UNB): A Sirajganj court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the possession of 100 grammes of heroin.
The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default of which he has to suffer three months more in prison.
Judge Fazle Khoda Md Nazir of Sirajganj District and Sessions Judge Court passed the verdict against convict Sumon Ali of Namochak Para village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Monday.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Sumon Ali was arrested by RAB-12 members on September 24, 2021, in Saidabad of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. At the time, he was carrying 100 grammes of heroin with him, said the PP.
