Man slaughtered to death in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, May 7 (UNB): A man was slaughtered to death by unidentified miscreants at Joyrampur village in Damurhuda upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Montu Mia, 40, a night guard of a local water body.
Police and locals said a gang of miscreants, numbering 2-3, stormed the house of Montu at about 1:00am, chopped him with sharp weapons and later slaughtered him when he was asleep, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body around 2:00am and took it to Damurhuda Police Station.
Officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police station Shikdar Mashiur Rahman said the man might have been killed by his rivals over previous enmity, adding that police are trying to arrest the people involved in the killing.
