Man stabbed to death by younger brother

SYLHET, Feb 1 (UNB): A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his younger brother over a land-related dispute in Raghunandanpur area of the town on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Khalik, 50, a resident of the area.
Locals said there had been a longstanding conflict between Abdul Khalik and his younger brother Jamshed Miah over the ownership of a piece of land.
As a sequel to it, an altercation ensued between them after Asr prayers and at one stage, Jamshed stabbed Khalik indiscriminately while he was returning home, leaving him dead on the spot.
Abdul Hye Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Police Station, confirmed the incident. A case was filed in this connection.
