Man to die for killing wife in Natore -

NATORE, Nov 15 (UNB): A Natore tribunal on Wednesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife in 2018.
The court also fined Tk 30,000 to the condemned convict Rony Molla, 33, of Purulia village in Gurudaspur upazila, and asked him to provide the money to his mother-in-law.
Natore Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Abdur Rahim handed down the punishment.
According to the prosecution, the convict Rony used to torture his wife Rina Khatun, 20, for Tk 0.2 million (2 lakh) as dowry since their marriage.
On September 15, 2018, Rony beat Rina up mercilessly and stabbed her with a sharp weapon over the issue.
Later, she died on way to the local hospital.
Mafiz Uddin, father of Rina, filed a case in this connection.
On November 13, 2018, police submitted charge sheet against Rony.
