Massive programmes to celebrate Ekushey February chalked out in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Feb 9 (BSS): The district administration in association with different organisations have chalked out massive programmes here to celebrate the 'Amar Ekushey February and International Mother Language Day' in a befitting manner.

A meeting in this respect was held recently at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner with DC DR. Abul Kalam Azad in the chair. District-level officers, public representatives, political leaders and heads of different socio-cultural and professional organisations, educational institutions and juvenile clubs attended the meeting.

The meeting was addressed, among others, by additional deputy commissioner (general) Abdullah-Al-Mamun, additional police super Delwar Hussain, commander of district Muktijoddha Sangsad Nurul Amin, president of district Udici Shilpi Goushthi Mustafizur Rahman and general secretary of Netrakona Press club Muklesur Rahman Khan.

On Ekushey February, the day's programme will begin at 12.1 midnight by placing floral wreaths at the Shahid Minar.

The programme includes hoisting of national flag at half-mast atop all the public and private buildings in the district, art competition on "language movement" for the school children at District Shishu Academy, screening of documentary film-show at Muktarpara ground, holding of discussion meeting and musical soiree based on "patriotic songs" at Netrakona central Shaheed Minar premises and offering of special prayers at mosques, temples, churches and other places of worships seeking divine blessings for peace and salvation of the departed souls of the language movement martyrs.
