GAZIPUR, Sept 1: After the booming success from 2014, the Mechanical and Chemical Engineering (MCE) department of Islamic University of Technology has once again stepped forward to bring to Bangladesh Mecceleration 2015. This event was inaugurated recently in the IUT campus, Board Bazar, Gazipur, Dhaka.
Mecceleration, being the signature event of the MCE department of IUT, is a competitive battlefield designed and aimed primarily for the Mechanical Engineering students of Bangladesh. This festival is an enlightening experience for every student of the engineering vocation who had come here to attend this gathering of the masses.
The aim of this event is to serve as a gathering of intellectuals who contribute to a pool of knowledge that is surely to be beneficial for all who seek enlightenment. This event also hopes to bring out the best in every engineer who partook in the various contests.
This year Mecceleration brought six magnanimous contests that tested the engineer to his/her very core. The "project showcasing" invited students from college and university levels around the nation, to bring forth their ideas and innovations that they believe may change the world. The "business idea competition" was an intense battle of the wits, as each team got their chance to present the next business solution, that might also be the answer to world peace.
The event was visited by Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan, Former vice-Chancellor of BUET and Founder VC of AUST and Professor David Howe, BD representative, Imeche, UK. Present during the inauguration also was Prof. Dr. M. Imtiaz Hossain, the vice-Chancellor of IUT.
The event comprised of around six hundred participants from forty institutions around Bangladesh.
