Mechanic crushed to death under truck in Sylhet

SYLHET, Oct 30 (UNB): An automobile mechanic was crushed to death under a truck after the vehicle fell on him while he was repairing it at Gobindaganj on the Sylhet-Chhatak road in Chhatak upazila  Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Pradip,25, hailing from Hamidpur village of Ghatail upazila in Tangail.

Witnesses said a truck loaded with fertiliser was heading towards Sunamganj from Chittagong. On the way, the vehicle broke down at Gobindaganj.

Being informed, motor mechanic Pradip came from Chittagong and started repairing the truck lifting in up with a jack. On impact, the jack loosened off letting the truck fall on Pradip, leaving him dead on the spot.
