Meritorious students urged to groom themselves properly

RAJSHAHI, Nov 9 (BSS): Speakers at a reception ceremony here today urged the meritorious students to groom themselves properly to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
They termed the students as the future leaders of the nation and said they should be well equipped with scientific and information and communication technological knowledge to face the challenges of the 21st century.
They were addressing a reception accorded to the students of SSC and other equivalent examinations, who obtained GPA-5 from the city's schools in 2014, at the City Bhaban Green Plaza here today.
Marking the ceremony, 1,551 students from 56 educational institutions were given Mayor Education Medal for their brilliant academic performance in the public examinations.
Speaking as chief guest, RCC Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul said education medal always inspires the meritorious students to more positive learning together with flourishing their latent talents.
There should be provision of providing education medal or other incentives to the students particularly from the underprivileged communities for encouraging them towards institutional education.
With RCC Chief Executive Officer Ajahar Ali in the chair, Prof Lutfunnessa Hossain, Prof Dr Farida Sultana and RCC Secretary AKM Masuduzzaman also spoke on the occasion.
