RAJSHAHI, Apr 15 (BSS): Promotion of modern technology as well as farm mechanization could be the effective means of minimising the existing yield gap of paddy and other cereal crops, agricultural scientists and researchers said while talking to the news agency here today.
They said the declining rainfall coupled with the enhanced temperature due to adverse impact of the climate change has pushed the paddy and cereal crops farming sector to a vulnerable condition. So, there is no alternative to promote farming mechanisation to address the adverse situation.
They said emphasis should be given to adopting more other need-based and time-fitting projects relating to minimizing the yield gap of crops so that the efforts of food security could be made substantial and sustainable in the days ahead.
