Minor boy drowns in Padma

RAJSHAHI, Feb 26 (UNB): A minor boy drowned in the Padma river in Harma area under Chapainnawabganj Sadar on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Shihab, 7, son of Karim, a resident of Ibrahim Mondal's village in the upazila.
Relatives and witnesses said Shihab and his counsin Mostakin went to visit the house of latter's grandfather. On their way to return home, they both were playing on boats achnored at the ghat in the Padma River around 3:45pm. At one stage, Shihab slipped into the river and drowned.
On information, a firefighting team from Rajshahi headquarters rushed in and recovered the body from the river around 7:15pm.
