Miscreants vandalise images at Barisal temple

BARISAL, Sept 28 (UNB): Unidentified miscreants vandalised three Hindu idols, including that of goddess Durga, at a temple in Kawnia of the city on Saturday.

Bikash Haldar, secretary of Aparajita Kunja Durga Puja Mandir committee, said unknown miscreant vandalised three idols, including that of Durga set up at the temple ahead of Durga Puja in the dead of night.

When an electrician got inside the temple in the afternoon for decorating the mandap, he found the idols of Durga, Ganesh and Kartik badly damaged.

Police visited the spot.
