Modern technology to increase rice output emphasised

RANGPUR, Nov 5 (BSS): Experts at the inaugural ceremony of a two-day training course today asked the poor and extremely poor farmers for adopting modern agriculture technologies to increase production of chemical-free hygienic rice.

World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) under its Fulbari ADP has been organising the training course for the second batch at its Madilahat Sub-centre in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on 'Rice Production through Modern Technology.'

A total of 25 extremely poor and extremely poor farmers of different villages under Betdighee union of Fulbari upazila have been participating in the second batch of training course.

The training course is being arranged to provide the farmers with practical knowledge on the modern agriculture technologies for increasing production of more hygienic rice, combating pests' attacks and using organic pesticides and fertilisers.

Fulbari Upazila Agriculture Officer S M Nasim Hossain attended and addressed the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest with Agriculture Officer of Fulbari ADP of the NGO Arbindu Roy in the chair.

Programme Officer of Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of WVB Badal Sangma addressed the ceremony as the special guest.
