Munshiganj, Dinajpur, Sylhet road crashes kill four

A total of four persons were killed in separate road accidents in Munshiganj, Dinajpur and Sylhet districts on Friday evening and Saturday, report agencies.

In Munshiganj, two young men were killed after a bus hit their motorbike in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Mahmudul Hasan, 31, son of Abdul Mannan from Bohori village in Matlab South upazila of Chandpur, and Mehedi Hasan, 30, a resident of Kashimpur village under the same upazila.

According to witnesses and police, the Cumilla-bound of 'Tisha Plus Paribahan' from Dhaka hit the motorbike from behind on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Madhya Baushia area around 6pm, causing the rider and pillion passenger to fall and collide with another bus in front of them.

Mehedi died on the spot while injured Mahmudul was taken to Gazaria Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.

In Dinajpur, a woman was killed in a road accident in Dasmile area in Sadar upazila of the district Saturday.

The deceased was Halima Khatun, 50, wife of Afsar Ali, a resident of Askarpur village of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 1.30 pm on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway when a truck hit a motorcycle from behind, leaving its rider Halima dead on the spot, police said.

In Sylhet, a person was killed and 11 others were injured in a road accident at Kurabazar in Osmani Nagar upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Saturday.

The deceased was Raju, 26, of Nagardia village of Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district.
