Mustard cultivation gaining popularity in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Nov 23 (BSS): Mustard cultivation has been gaining popularity in all the ten upazilas of the district during the current season.

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office sources said a total of 3,446 hectare of land have been brought under the cultivation with the production target of 4,000 tonnes of the oil seeds.

The farmers of the district have already cultivated 3,000 hectares of land after harvesting short duration variety of Aman paddy.

DAE crop specialists said the farmers have been showing their keen interests in farming the Mustard this Rabi season after getting better yielding rate and fair price of the oil seeds in last several years.
