Nari Protiva Mela begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Mar 8 (BSS): A two-day 'Nari Protiva Mela' (NPM) began on the premises of Bijoy Stambha at Poura Park here on Friday with a call to recognize women's contribution to nation building activities.

District administration, Department of Women Affairs, district social initiative group and Gana Unnayan Kendra(GUK) organized the NPM on the occasion of International Women Day-2014.

Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, MP, formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest and Deputy Commissioner M. Ehsan-E-Elahi was present as the special guest. The speakers stressed the need for overall development of the women folk and their active participation in social works to lead the country towards desired goal.
