Nasimon workers want legalisation of vehicles

JESSORE, Mar 19: 'Give us rice or alternative jobs, otherwise allow us to ply our vehicles' was the slogan of locally-made vehicles Nasimon-Karimon and Alam Sadhu workers during a demonstration held in the town Wednesday.

To press home their 10-point charter of demands, several hundred workers of the locally made vehicles brought out procession in Jessore town from Munshi Meherullah Maidan at around 12 noon.

A rally was held before the procession where Ashutosh Biswas, Ahad Ali Laskar, Syed Ali, Asadur Rahman, Obaidur Rahman, Abdur Razzak, Hafizur Rahman, Ayub Hossain and a number of speakers participated.

The speakers urged the government to realise the demands of the workers. The demands include allowing the vehicles on highways for carrying patients, vegetables and other essentials by introducing separate lanes and legalisations of the vehicles.
