National Co-operative Day observed in Bogura

BOGURA, Nov 25: The 47th National Co-operative Day-2018 was celebrated amid much interest in Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura district on Sunday.

The authority concerned celebrated the day with a call to strengthen the co-operative movement in the society to lead the country towards desired development.

At around 10 am, a colourful rally was brought out from the upazila premises and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.

Marking the day, upazila co-operative office chalked out the elaborate programmes from the morning to noon. "Let's build co-operative-based society" is the theme of the day is this year.

A large number of upazila level officials, cooperative members, social workers, and NGO activists including journalists of print media attended the programmes.

Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the auditorium with upazila co-operative officer Ferdus Rahman in the chair. Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Zakir Hossain was the chief guest.

The function was also addressed, among others, vice chairman Shakhina Begum, education officer and noted journalist Golam Faquk.
