JKKNIU, Mymensingh, Mar 25: Iftar makes a festive atmosphere at the Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University central field in Trishal upazila as students get together here to break their fasting.

Under open sky, they sit in groups and take iftar during the holy month of Ramadan.

During Ramadan, it has become a regular scene of the university's central field. Their together helps themselves to forget that they are away from their families.

Students enthusiastically join for no special food items but to meet up and bond among friends and seniors-juniors.

The students also follow very common and traditional iftar items in their menu - chola-muri, piyaju, beguni, jilapi, date fruits and biriyan.

Some female students also bring iftar from their residential halls for their friends.

On the campus, many makeshift shops get busy selling iftar item.

"We are away from our families, but iftar with friends together is a great extent. Iftar at central field feels a festive and blessing atmosphere." said Mst Jannati Nur, a student of Accounting and Information System Department.

Nahadul Islam, a student of master's programme and general secretary of 'Moot Court Society', said, "Most probably it's our last Ramadan in university life. Iftar with the friends circle of five-six years makes a spiritual vibes."

Not only the groups of close friends, but various social, cultural, political organisations and clubs also arrange iftar programmes at this place.

"Iftar gives us a great opportunity to hold our meetings and strengthen our bonding." said Moshiur Rahman Nirob, a student of Environmental Science and Engineering Department and the executive advisor of Rotract Club of the University.

Alongside Muslim students, other religions and community students also come at central field to have iftar with their friends.
