RAJSHAHI, May 24 (BSS): Speakers at a workshop here today said people-friendly public administration besides full-length integrity is very important for full-length reflection of the hopes and aspirations of people in general.
They stressed the need for freeing all the field level public services from corruptions and anomalies for the sake of establishing people's confidence on the civil services.
The present government is committed to build a transparent, accountable, people-oriented, knowledge-based and dynamic public administration and urged the field level administrative officials to supplement the government endeavor, they added.
The day-long training workshop styled "Enforcement of Integrity Strategy in Public Services" was held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner in Rajshahi today.
Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) and Rajshahi District Administration jointly organised the workshop in association with Strengthening of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (Phase-III) Project.Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury and Deputy Director of BPATC Zahidul Islam addressed the opening session as chief and special guests respectively with SM Tuhinur Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education Development and ICT), in the chair.
During his keynote presentation, Prof Dr Pronab Kumar Panday from Department of Public Administration of Rajshahi University, termed the government officials as the public servants and said they should be committed towards the people's welfare.
He emphasized the need for building a transparent, accountable and pro-people public administration for the sake of ensuring good governance everywhere in the service delivery activities.
