KHULNA, Nov 16: Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a human hauler at Harintana Gate in Khulna city's Labanchara area on Friday night. The deceased were identified as Miraz Moazzam, son of Moazzem Hossain from Mongla upazila, and Mohammad Rabbi Hawladar, son of Hanif Hawladar from Batiaghata upazila. Zakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Labanchora Police Station, said the accident occurred at around 07:45 pm when the Harintana Gate-bound human hauler collided with a motorbike coming from the opposite direction, killing the motorbike driver on the spot and injuring another. The injured human hauler driver was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.— UNB
52-year-old man's body
recovered from roadside
NARAYANGANJ, Nov 16: Police recovered the body of a 52-year-old man from the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road in Fatullah of Narayanganj on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Md Imen Ali of Jamalpur's Islampur upazila. Imen was a fish trader, said Sub-Inspector Md. Kamal of Fatullah Model Police Station. Locals discovered the body lying on the Dhaka-bound lane of the link road on the overpass in Bhuiya area and informed the police. Later, a team from Fatullah Police Station went to the spot and recovered the body around 7:30 am, the SI said. The victim had injuries on the back of his head and ear, and one of his wrists was broken. "We suspect he may have been hit by a fast-moving vehicle while crossing the road," the police official added. — UNB

JHALAKATHI, Nov 16: Nalchity upazila administration in a drive evicted a total of 20 illegal structures on the Mallikpur to Surya Pasha road of the upazila on Saturday. The upazila administration conducted the eviction drive aiming to widen the width of the road from Mallikpur to Surya Pasha road of the upazila. Nalchity Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Nazrul Islam led the drive. Acting Chief Executive of the municipality Abul Hossain and local dignitaries, among others, were present during the operation. Three arrested with stolen

PANCHAGARH, Nov 16: Police arrested three criminals along with two stolen motor bikes from Hisabia Eidgha ground in Boda upazila under Panchagarh district on Friday. The arrestee are- Ismail Hossein, 30, Abdur Razzak, 38, Imran Hossein, 19, both of hailed in Debiganj upazila, police said. A team of police led by Panchagarh police super Mizanur Rahman Munshi conducted a drive and arrest the criminals. They were produced to district magistrate court on Saturday. — BSS
