Nine students injured by lightning strike in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, July 24 (UNB): Nine students of Chakirpasha Islamia Dakhil Madrasa were injured by lightning strike in Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram district on Monday.

The injured are Abdur Razzaque, Nazmin Nahar, Sumaiya, Roksana, Afroza, Nirma, Ali Raz, Farzana and Sanzida.

Quoting Manik Mia, superintendent of the madrasa, Abdullah Hil Zaman, officer-in-charge of Rajarhat Police Station, said thunderbolt struck nine students of the madrasa while they were sitting in their tin-shed classroom in the afternoon amid rain, leaving them injured.
