RAJSHAHI, Aug 3: Despite the directive from the Ministry of Education, no dynamic website has so far been built in any educational institution of Tanore upazila. As a result, thousands of students and teachers of those institutions are being deprived of benefit from the digital as well as online services.
Instead of building websites, the educational institutions of the upazilas were performing all computer related jobs from various computer centres outside the institutions. However, heads of those institutions informed, there having no expertise, no idea on dynamic websites and no fund, it is not being possible for them to build the website.
It is learnt, on April 30, a letter issued from the department of Secondary and Higher Education directed all non-government educational institutions of the country to built their own dynamic websites mandatorily.
The website was supposed to hold database of all students, teachers and staff of the educational institutions, all sort of fees of the institutions should be received through mobile banking system.
Moreover, the website will hold all information and jobs including making and uploading of all results of internal examinations and designing with the facility of download of all certificate, testimonials and marksheets, admission of students, form fill ups, daily attendance of the students and teachers, information about vacant posts and all other information of an educational institution.
In addition, a letter signed on April 5 this year by senior system analysts of the Ministry of Education Mofakkharul Islam directed all non-governmental schools and colleges to build dynamic website and by including the data of all students and teachers with photographs, academic calendar, class routine, report of absentee teachers and students within May-30.
Another letter issued on April-8 by Assistant Director (College-3) Helal Uddin of Department of Secondary and Higher Education directed all non-government colleges of the country. But so far it is learnt, no educational institution in Tanore upazila has so far carried out the directives of the ministry.
A source of Tanore Upazila Education office informed, in Tanore upazila there are 59 Lower Secondary and Secondary schools, two schools and colleges, 13 colleges and 28 madrashas.
Many Principals and Headmasters of various colleges and schools of the upazila informed, they have no fund to build a website and others informed they have no idea what a dynamic website was.
President of Tanore Upazila Shiskhak Samity Zillur Rahman informed, through the government has directed to build the website, no fund has been allocated for this purpose yet, that is why no school in the upazila has so far been able to build the website.
Amirul Islam, Upazila Education Officer of Tanore in this connection informed, no educational institution in Tanore has so far been able to build a dynamic website because of shortage of fund. But the system is under way, he added.
