No playground for 31 Natore pry schools

NATORE, Nov 02: Some 31 primary schools in the district are running their academic activities without playground.

During a recent visit this correspondent saw some students of Nasirun Nesa Government Primary School (NGPS) under Sadar upazila playing in the narrow lane between two school buildings.

School children were also playing hide and seek there. Sometimes other students were joining them as well.

Head teacher of NGPS Suchitra Rani said some parts of the school had disappeared into the Narad river. Since the town is densely populated, there is no vacant area around the school, she added.

The students of government primary schools at Lalbazar, Uparbazar, Nichabazar and Baragachha are also suffering for lack of playground.

There was no opportunity for sports in the schools.

Education officer of Natore Sadar upazila Ashraful Islam said it is sad that students are not able to play due to lack of playground.
